Lacoste Motion Collection - The Modern Otter

Every year around this time, I find myself wearing nothing but navy, grey and white. I think it’s because I’m sick of winter and those colors are a perfect transition to get me into spring. You can layer them up when it’s cold out, but they still feel light and carefree when all together. Like a breath of fresh air in the middle of a sea of black coats in NYC.

A lot of brands use this color scheme in their pre-spring collections for that very reason. Most put a nautical spin on it, but I love how Lacoste color blocked different shades of grey and navy for their new Motion Collection. There are a few different color stories in the line: khaki + yellow, bold red + maroon, but I instantly fell in love with the navy, grey and teal. I mean, obviously!! Those colors have my name written all over them.

You can’t really see it in these photos, but the sweater has teal panels running up the side and on the back. It’s super cool.

I geek out over how things are made and what they’re made out of, so the details of the Lacoste Motion Collection really won me over. This color blocked parka is made from a crease-proof, water-resistant taffeta! (Taffeta is just a fancy way to describe a shiny, tightly woven, crisp fabric.) There are zippers under the arms with concealed mesh venting and it has built-in shoulder straps so you can drape the jacket behind you when you’re not wearing it. It’s remarkably light AND it’s packable! You can fold it down and stow it in one of the zippered pockets. It would be a great travel jacket because it’s so compact.

Plus, the color blocking is just cool. It’s not a basic solid parka.

I could wear these Lacoste Motion Stretch Track Pants all day, every day. The material is smooth, pillow-y, and on the thicker side. That means they’re perfect for running around outside in the winter, but I’ll be wearing them on my next flight because they’re ridiculously comfy. I usually have a hard time finding track pants that are long enough for me. I’m 6 feet tall. Most track pants in my waist size become ankle pants after I wash them. These are on the longer side though and fit great!

You can shop the entire Lacoste Motion Collection here, and I’m linking this pre-spring look down below! You can expect to see this color combo popping up a lot on my feed in the near future! ;)
