New York Fashion Week is upon us! It always seems to fall at the worst times of the year though. It’s either crazy cold or burning hot. How am I supposed to dress ‘fashion forward’ under these conditions?!?
Short answer: layers. Lots of layers.
For this NYFW, I teamed up with HauteLook to style out a few J. Lindeberg pieces that are classic AND won’t break your fashion piggy bank. They’re having a major sale right now with up to 56% off menswear so you should definitely check it out before everything sells out. HauteLook starts a new sale every day at 8am PST!
If you’re not up on the J. Lindeberg game, you should be. They’re a Scandinavian label blurring the line between fashion and function. Every piece seems to be designed as a wardrobe staple you’ll pick up again and again.
Keeping Fashion Week in mind, I jumped on the “turtleneck under crewneck” trend.
Sweaters on sweaters on sweaters!
It’s a great way to keep warm without throwing on a bulky coat. Turtlenecks have quickly become this season’s replacement to a shirt and tie under a suit, so why not layer under casual wear as well?
I finished the look off with a lightweight puffer shirt jacket. An easy piece to layer underneath a topcoat in the event there’s a sudden blizzard in the middle of fashion week. (I wouldn’t put it past Mother Nature…)
If you want to push the fashion button, grab a blanket scarf or leather bag. I got tired of carrying things around during Men’s Fashion Week, so I’m opting to go free and light! Classics all the way.
