Summer weight cashmere is a thing, and you should be on board.
I'm hoping you have heard of Summer weight sweaters- The ultra-thin layering option that's perfect for balancing Summer heat and cold, air conditioned rooms. They're typically made from single-ply cotton and are almost see-through. I'm a huge fan of short sleeve sweaters and use them as a t-shirt alternative, but recently I have been hooked on something a bit more luxurious.
I know what you're thinking: "Why on earth would I wear cashmere in the middle of the Summer?" But trust me, it's like the cozier version of your go-to hoodie. It breathes better than cotton, it's lighter than cotton and it's softer. It's made for ocean-side adventures in the Hamptons or P-Town. Cashmere is a fabric you can actually wear year-round.
Plus, you need other options than tank tops and polos!!
Just think about most of the major retailers out there. They all carry year-round cashmere. It's not just because it's covetable, it's practical. Nowadays, you can find thin cashmere sweaters, t-shirts... even tank tops. I'm obsessed with this grey cashmere hoodie- I don't want to take it off! It's so soft! I'll probably leave it on till Fall and then layer on top of it.
So, something to consider: year-round cashmere. You'll be on board as soon as you put it on, I promise.
