There are two foundational casual pant categories in a man’s closet: denim and khakis.
In my experience, when a guy finds a pair that fits perfectly, he orders multiples of every color it comes in. They’re like pairs of underwear. You just need them. I know I wear the same jeans almost every day and am loyal to a very specific slim cut. They’re narrow, without looking sprayed on. For my khakis, I prefer a tapered fit. Tapered pants are a bit narrower at the ankle, which make them perfect for cuffing and adding a little preppy flair. They also look really sharp with a bare ankle and a pair of loafers for a more polished spring/summer look.
The ones I’m wearing in this post are the Original Khaki DuraFlex Lite Pant from Dockers.
Dockers is an American institution. They have been the go-to destination for men’s khakis for over 30 years, and the DuraFlex Lite Pant is a riff on their classic tapered fit khaki. They’re made from a stretch lightweight twill, which make them ridiculously comfortable and thinner than your standard cotton version.
I’m seeing “stretch” in more and more pants these days. What started as a trend in jeans has snowballed into every category of clothing. Everyone just wants to be comfortable, right?! And with the innovations in tech fabrics, anything can have stretch without looking like gym clothes. I’d say these khakis are pretty smart.
Like all of their fits, this pant comes in a number of different colors, so you can stock up on a few! I love how this grey pair has a slight green undertone. It sets them apart from your typical navy, grey, and tan options. This entire look is from Dockers though, so be sure to check out the rest of their site for some great pieces while you’re there. Both this suede jacket and reverse terry sweatshirt are going to be big staple pieces for me come spring!
