You know I love a weekend adventure!

Mike and I recently went back to Foxwoods Resort Casino for a little escape from the city. It’s only a couple hours away in Connecticut, so it’s a perfect destination for a day trip or an overnight getaway. We have visited a few times over the years, and this time we were keen to check out some of the outdoor activities the resort has to offer!

Foxwoods has taken all of the necessary COVID precautions. Rooms undergo extensive cleaning and are sealed before you get there so you know they’re “Fox Clean.” There’s hand sanitizer available all over the casino and attendants clean nearly every surface continuously. We felt incredibly safe the whole time!

A few of the restaurants have outdoor patios, so we went straight to Scorpion Bar our first night. Did you know fried chicken and churros were a thing?! Like chicken and waffles, but like, a million times better. My mind was blown!

After dinner, we went to the drive-in movie theatre to watch Black Panther! It’s located right next to the hotel. They even give you a free cooler with a purchase of a concession package.

The most exciting part of the trip though, was the zip-line! It goes from the top of Fox Tower (which is 33 stories tall) to the Pequot Museum, which is 3/4 of a mile away. I have to say, the view of the changing leaves as you glide 350 ft off the ground is INCREDIBLE. It’s truly a unique experience. They’re running a deal right now on Sunday ziplining – check it out here.

After zip-lining, we hit up the Tanger Outlets, followed by pizza, Pepsi and a movie night back in our room!

Foxwoods is always a good time. We’ll have to go back to drive the Monza Go Carts and do some hiking in the hills around the property! It’s such a beautiful area. Thank you, Foxwoods, for a fabulous (and safe) escape.
