In case you're new to the blog: I'm obsessed with grey.

I try branching out. I force myself to reach for a colorful sweater, but my hand always lands on the grey one in the end. Grey is just so easy to style! It's classic. Season-less. And wearing all grey adds a level of refinement.

Or so I like to think.

Either way, it's a huge trend this season. Everyone is showing tonal grey looks, so I thought I would share a few tricks to dressing in head to toe grey (or any color for that matter):

1. Wear varying shades

Not 50.... but a few. If you're wearing exactly the same shade from head to toe, you'll just look like a Pantone swatch. It helps to have lighter shades under darker shades to lighten the look. Lighter shades around your face also draw the eye up, to where it counts. And I almost always opt for brown shoes with grey. They're softer than black.

2. Wear clothes with texture

One color can be a bit boring without some sort of visual interest. Anything nubby, heathered, suede, marled or printed will add dimension to a look. Mixing different kinds of fabrics is key too. Suede with tweed. Cotton with wool.

3. A little bit of white goes a long way

A white shirt or sneakers just pull everything together. They makes your look crisp. Polished.

I'm embracing my love of grey. It's just so easy! You should give it a try and let me know if you have any tricks of your own in the comment section below.
