I'm always writing on here about how you should invest in quality fabrics.

Cashmere, linen, merino wool, etc. all last longer and look better than any fast-fashion acrylic. Well, the same idea goes for your grooming and home care products!

I'm not saying a great hand soap will last you longer... I'm saying a company that has been around for almost 150 years knows a thing or two about quality ingredients (and great business) and makes a damn good product.

It's not always about the newest chemicals. Sometimes the best formulas are the old school ones made from plants and natural ingredients. J.R. Watkins is a true 'heritage' brand. They have been making natural, plant based products in the US since 1868. That's a crazy long time!! I trust they know what they're doing.

You are probably familiar with their spices, soaps, and old school packaging, but they have a full line of Home Care (soaps, room fresheners, all purpose cleaners) and Body Care (body wash, cleansing wipes and bar soap). Everything is non-toxic, plant-based, biodegradable and phosphate free!

Climate change is real, guys. So any step we can take to reduce our impact on the environment, the better. Even if it's just switching out your toxic dish soap for something a little more eco-friendly.

Ok. Moving beyond the brand's mission and origin, let's talk about the actual products.

The new Men's Body Care line is scented with bergamot and oak. Bergamot is a type of orange, but it's green like a lime. It's not a commonly known fruit in the US, but it has a really clean and citrusy smell. You see it a TON in men's cologne (YSL, Creed, Lacoste... you name it). Bergamot, combined with the light woody oak, make for a really refreshing scent. It's not overpowering like some soaps. You just feel clean and natural when you're done showering. Like a blank slate.

The bar soap is HUGE, so it takes a few weeks to work through (which I love). I use the wipes to remove all the dirt off my face at the end of the day or on my way home from the gym.

And for the home care, it's pretty much the same idea! It's all clean and not overpowering. You're home doesn't smell like fabric softener or whatever they're scenting home sprays with these days... it's just natural and pleasant.
