Weekend Escape to the Blue with Mr. Porter
It's time to kick off the Spring/Summer travel season and get the hell out of NYC!!
Mike and I love doing remote weekend getaways in New England. We just take off Thursday-Sunday and drive up the coast somewhere! This time around, we teamed up with one of our favorite hospitality groups, Lark Hotels, and drove to Blue Inn. It's on Plum Island, about an hour outside of Boston on the North Shore.
We have stayed with Lark before at their Stowe, Vermont and Newport locations and are obsessed with the aesthetic!! Lark's boutique properties are charming and quirky and made for the #gram. Most of them are run by couples, and Mike is convinced we should open our own someday.

Before heading out on our trip, I partnered with my friends over at Mr. Porter to grab a few getaway essentials! They're mix of luxury and accessible clothing made perfect sense for our casual-chic expedition!
TBH, anytime I need last minute pieces for a trip, Mr. Porter is the first place I look. They deliver incredibly fast (same day in NYC)! They're also my go-to anytime I need a fresh pair of Common Projects or shorts from Club Monaco.

Blue was the perfect place to escape. We timed it right before the season really started, which meant we had the beach to ourselves and could explore the nature preserve without a lot of tourists around. It was a little chilly for swimming, but it was perfect weather to sit on the deck of the hotel, drink rosé and watch the waves. I threw on a pink hoodie and drawstring pants to keep warm during the cool mornings, but I ditched the layers halfway through the day.
The staff at Blue prepare a complimentary breakfast basket and leave it at your door every morning. It's filled with homemade baked goods, yogurt, coffee and fruit. We ate in bed a few times, but it made for a great early-morning beach picnic on our last day. What a chic way to wake up, right?!

Plum Island is a 5 min drive from Newburyport, Massachusetts, which I decided is on my short list of places I would love to settle down in when I'm older. It's your classically charming New England town (think: the Hamptons, Newport or Martha's Vineyard). It has great restaurants, historic buildings, summer play festivals and you can walk all over town really easily.
We quickly found a favorite coffee shop and made friends with the owner of a furniture and interiors shop nearby. We even picked up a few pieces of artwork for above our bed back home.
By far my favorite Mr. Porter look from the trip was the one above with this Sandro wave shirt, Acne denim and NN07 mint green shirt jacket. The fits were all perfect and I felt effortlessly chic in it-- exactly how you want to feel when you're escaping the city to unwind for a few days.
