Otter Expedition: Austin

In December, Mike and I flew out to Austin for the week right after Christmas. It was a fantastic escape from the cold, a chance for us to see my Niece (my brother and his family just moved out there), and an opportunity for us to shoot some early SPRING looks! Cuz those warmer temps can't come soon enough!

We ended up shooting nine looks for Timberland's spring collection. All of the photos will hit their blog soon, but in the meantime, you can see a sneak peek of some of them below (with the green M65 coat and the shorts).

But Day 1, I was sporting a look from Original Penguin. They're classic Americana style was perfect for exploring Austin's gritty, cool corners. The pic above was at a Cat Café (cuz apparently that's a thing....), but I highly recommend the bacon wrapped hot dogs at Mission Dogs. It's in the Austin equivalent of Williamsburg. lol. If you catch the owner at the right time, he drives a rad vintage pickup truck that perfectly matches his restaurant.

Moonshine Patio Bar and Grill

I couldn't believe the number of really fantastic menswear shops in Austin! They're so well curated and have brands I have a hard time finding (even on the internet). New York has a huge shortage of small menswear shops, probably because of the rent, so it was great to stock up on some of my favorite brands.

You can see my list of favorite shops below, but I would suggest hitting up two main spots in the city: South Congress and the Domain shopping center. There are other cool shopping areas, but those two have the biggest concentration.

Austin was such a great escape! I'll have to plan for it every winter. ;)
