Gone are the days where your pants need a single break above the shoe and your shirt hits the joint of your thumb (that was the rule.... fyi). Show a little ankle! Cover your hands! Wear a long coat with short pants. Get cheeky with your fits. Let's loosen up those 'rules'.
Mind you, I hated showing my ankles a year ago. The thought of an exposed ankle bone just bothered me for some reason. Like I wasn't able to find my correct size or something. But as it warmed up and my style loosened up, out they came! And I have to say I fully embrace my ankles now and you should embrace yours too. When you go short, make sure the pants are tailored to perfection like these Mr Nieves trousers. You want a slim leg opening so the overall look remains polished and clean. Nieves' collection plays with proportion and print in a fun yet smart way. It's all about being bold with your choices.
I'm still wearing socks, so don't freak out about that, you just can't see them. They're called loafer or no-show socks. They're basically the greatest style assistant ever. And a long thermal tee and coat keep me ready for this ever changing Fall weather!
Mr Nieves' collection just launched in July, so make sure you check out their complete Spring 15' collection here.
How about you? Are you ready to show a little ankle?
