It is possible to be comfortable and polished at the same time! There is a fuzzy line between casual attire and work wear and finding the right balance is key when you're always on the go, like me.

Here's a few simple tips to help you stay smart and casual:

-Roll your sleeves up (Rolling them above the elbow will help lengthen the appearance of your torso but roll them cleanly to avoid looking sloppy on the job.)

-Undo your top button and tie a relaxed knot. (Four-In-Hand. Save the Windsors for weddings.... Google these terms if you have no idea what i'm talking about)

-A tie clip instantly adds sophistication without a shred of work (The skinnier the tie, the smaller the tie clip)

-White sneakers

The last one is key. In the Summer time, I wear white sneakers with everything. Whether they're Chucks, Tretorns, Vans,  Sperry's.... white sneakers pair perfectly with everything from shorts to a suit. As long as they're clean, you'll look effortlessly pulled together. If you're going to wear them with a suit though, I would ditch the button down in favor of a sweater or t-shirt. And yes... you absolutely can wear a t-shirt with a suit. It's 2014. Break the mold!

How do you stay smart and casual in the Summer?

Bedford & Broome tie / J-Crew oxford shirt (old, similar here) / Club Monaco chino / J-Crew belt / The Tie Bar tie clip / Banana Republic sunglasses / Coach watch / Ettika bracelet / Sperry Top-Sider sneakers
