It's that really awkward time of year when it's 50 degrees in the morning and 80 by the afternoon. Am I supposed to dress for Fall or Summer? Do I wear tweed or shorts? Cashmere or linen? A beanie or baseball cap? Rosé or moscow mule?

Ugh. Adult life is hard!

Whatever. I'm going to wear what I want: cashmere and shorts. I'll be cozy AND season-transitional. What now, Mother Nature?!

If you're thinking the same thing (shorts and sweaters), here are a few styling tips I would suggest:

- Choose chunky. A cable knit, shawl collar or mock neck is absolutely acceptable with shorts. Think about the whole nautical trend: a cable knit sweater with chino shorts... now switch up the color palette to something a little more Fall-centric and you're set.

-Ditch the short shorts. I mean... I rolled these shorts twice cuz it was actually 80 degrees when we shot this, but longer is better when it's with a sweater. No one likes the guy in a scarf and a 5" inseam.

-Layer. I'm wearing a marled grey tee under this sweater just in case the sun comes out. Don't tie the sweater around your waist though unless you have a button down or jacket on. You'll just look like a dad on vacation.

-Avoid pastels. It's after Labor Day! It's time to put away your yellow chinos till next year.

But this is it! After this, it's all down hill into tweed cargo pants, boots and blanket scarves. God, I can't wait!
