Took a break from the big city this weekend to see some friends and family in Connecticut. A short trip on the Metro-North and you're in a completely different world. It's not green yet, but the open fields were a welcome change to concrete. Maybe I was thinking too much about Field of Dreams, but the trip to small-town America inspired me to bust out my Americana style.
The baseball jacket is not just a collegiate standard, it is a symbol of American sports-wear. It has an ease about it that shows you're ready to play ball but it exudes confidence and a certain level of polish. I was feeling patriotic and paired it with red polkadots, light wash denim and bright blue Jack Purcells. The key to pulling the look off is to keep it simple. Avoid extra accessories... It's all about the jacket. I may not be a sportsman, but I can certainly look like one from time to time!
