Feeling My Retro Jeans
It's crazy, I look exactly like my father back in the 70's in this picture. Talk about a retro throwback! I have been known to wear short shorts with athletic socks and rock a retro tee here and there, but it's never been as spot on as this shoot.
I'm really digging it.
Wrangler Jeans is celebrating their 70th year of making denim and they just launched a 70's themed collection to celebrate! For today's blog post, I partnered with Wrangler to style a few pieces from the collection while exploring Wynwood, Miami, the perfect place to find rainbow walls, vintage shops and artist colonies.
Details are always the most important thing to me when I shop for clothing. I like interesting pleats, stitching, textures and pockets. These jeans have a "ripped and repaired" vibe. Like they were well-worn, but you wanted to get a new life out of them, so you had them patched back up. Their stitching tells a story.
The jacket has 70's inspired pleats, but it's cut in a modern slim fit. On me it's a little cropped, which is perfect for summer. Wrangler even released a line of patches and pins to customize your jacket. I went with the single pin to keep is clean, but might deck it out the next time I wear it.
And you can't go wrong with a retro rainbow tee!
Embrace the denim on denim look! Mix the washes, embrace faded jeans. Try the rip-and-repair look! It's all fair game these days, and what's old/retro is definitely new again.
