Mother Nature is having a mid-season crisis.

It was Fall last week, Winter this week, back to Fall next week. Loving my new coats, but they aren't always necessary. Sometimes all you need is a few thin layers and a warm scarf. Just enough layers for whatever weather might occur. In the Summer, my wardrobe revolves around t-shirts, but in the colder months, I pack them away in favor of the henley. It's lumberjack-scruffy realness 4 months out of the year.

If a lumberjack wore cashmere and polkadot socks...

Now, henleys don't have to be all thick and waffle-y. These days they come in everything from linen to wool. This Grayers double-cloth henley is a little bit thicker than a t-shirt and the perfect layer under a shirt and vest. It's heathered in a way that allows the red underside to show through and it's really cool (or warm...). If the wind picks up, just loop your scarf once more around and button your vest. The temps are fickle these days.

Winter will be here soon enough, so enjoy Fall while it's still around! I'm working on prepping to host Thanksgiving for my entire family in my tiny NYC apt. Lots of shopping and planning to do before the cooking begins next week! Wish me luck! Stay tuned for all the Thanksgiving deliciousness.

So, what's your Fall go-to layer?

Grayers Henley / J-Crew shirt (similar) / Club Monaco scarf, vest and denim / Converse sneakers / Rayban sunglasses
