I have always felt experiences are worth more than physical objects. Clothes come and go, we redecorate our homes year after year and diamonds aren’t really my best friend… but sharing an experience with people you love means the world.
For today’s post, I partnered with Framebridge to capture one of my favorite family memories in LARGE scale above my desk. I wanted something that would make a statement and tied in with the minimal aesthetic of my office area. I’m also slowly becoming a major plant Dad (as evident by the 6’ tree in the corner), so I wanted the photo to evoke nature and balance the jewel tone green wall on the opposite side of the room.
Last Fall, I flew to Iceland with my parents. We spent a whole week climbing glaciers, hiking moss covered hills, soaking in the blue lagoon and driving all over the incredible island. Iceland is hands down one of the most beautiful places in the world! Everywhere you turn is picturesque and beautifully vibrant. If it’s not on your bucket list, it should be.
I wouldn’t say I photograph landscapes very often, but there was a perfect moment on a hike with my Dad where the sun was just peaking over the hill. It highlighted the tops of the mossy rocks and created this incredible shadowy scene. It was a once in a lifetime trip and I was able to share it with both of my parents. What better image to look at every day while working? It’s a reminder to myself to always look for the next big adventure and to never stop traveling!
Huge shout out to my father for being my Insta-photographer for pretty much every other photo on that trip. ;P
Framebridge is a custom framing company that lets you capture moments like this for incredibly affordable prices. They use old school craftsmanship with new technology and manufacture everything in the US. You can either submit your file online (the higher the resolution, the larger you can blow up the image) or you can send in a physical piece to be framed. They do more than photos too. You can send them diplomas, flags… whatever you feel like. Then the online platform lets you customize the frame, matte and size, or you can also let Framebridge’s experts see your image and make recommendations for how it should be mounted and framed.
This photo from Iceland ended is over 3 feet across, but the whole thing cost less than $150. I have done custom framing in the past for much smaller pieces, and let me tell you, that’s an incredible price!

The home redecorating continues!! I’d also like to thank Amara for the concrete shelf mounted under the photo. I thought it was the perfect industrial touch to finish off the metallic and black accents in the office area. I’m trying to keep things clean and simple, so the shelf is great for removing clutter from my workspace. Hopefully the newly revamped workspace improves my productivity!! We’ll have to wait and see…
