Chambray of the Day- Thursday

Chambray goes with everything. 

No, really.... A chambray shirt is one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. Just like denim, it can be worn with any color under the sun, pairs perfectly with any pattern, and can be worn with a pair of shorts or under a suit to the office. It transcends seasons and easily molds to the style of the person wearing it. You cannot underestimate this simple fabric. 

In honor of my love for chambray, I am dedicating a week to its versatility. Each day I will post a different way to wear a chambray shirt and prove to you it is a wardrobe must-have. 

Today's look: California Sun

It's still a bit cold in NYC, so I'm channeling the warm California sun. The key to pairing a chambray shirt with denim is to wear complimentary washes that aren't identical. I made it easy by matching my wheat colored denim with a light blue chambray shirt but the look could also be done with blue denim slightly darker than the shirt. I threw a palm print t-shirt underneath for a cool pattern and kept everything else neutral. It's easy-going and yet classic.

Check back tomorrow for something completely different! But still chambray.... Cuz it's about chambray... Have I said chambray enough?
